What Will We Explore in this New Blog Series?

I'm genuinely excited to embark on this blog series delving into my paranormal romance series, the Dark Reunion. This book series has been a long time coming—its journey started during my teenage years. I'll be expanding on that story in a different article. It's a tale that carries some weight, especially for those who have faced emotional abuse, so approach with a mindful heart about your own triggers! It's a profound and authentic story about how pain and the yearning for escape birthed the idea for this book series.

What the Blog Series Will Cover:

So, with this blog series, I aim to do two things. First, I want to discuss all the ideas I've brewed about the world I created and the characters inhabiting it in the Dark Reunion series. Secondly, I want this blog series to be an exploration of the more speculative aspects of the series. By that, I mean delving into themes, deciphering what characters represent, and exploring symbols I might have unconsciously woven into the books.

1. Setting and World-building:

We'll certainly delve into the setting and world-building. If you've dived into book one, you're aware I craft settings uniquely. Settings, for me, are characters with their own histories. I'll discuss the construction of the vampire city Kitling, the creation of the Amethyst Forest, and what significance the Amethyst Forest holds in the grand scope of the series. There are other settings to explore too, including Leah’s Territory, the luxury resort in Salt District, Vincent's mansion, and the underground tunnels in the Amethyst Forest. I'll also unpack my thoughts on dystopian settings—dark, abandoned places amid legendary or sprawling metropolises—and how they mirror the rebuilding of society through their off-kilter backdrops. There's magic to unravel through hidden layers and remnants of a world that once belonged to humans.

2. Characters and their Journeys:

Characters are the heartbeat of storytelling, and I plan to dive deep into character profiles. We might even venture into journal entries and abundant backstories. While main characters Danielle and Camden will undergo thorough examination, we'll touch on crucial side characters like Lane and Vincent. We'll discuss characters who stand in near opposition to the main characters, like Abigail, Montclair, and Kennedy. The unique love story between antagonists Kennedy and Montclair holds a special place, and I aim to explore their relationship. 3. Twists and Turns:

The Dark Reunion series revels in twists, turns, and jaw-dropping revelations. Secrets will surface, alliances will be tested, and the line between good and evil will blur in unexpected ways. That's how stories should unfold—I wouldn't want a tale without surprises around almost every corner. So, I'll be delving into interesting plot points, and while there may be some spoilers, I'll provide ample warning. We'll discuss story arcs, peaks and valleys, lows and highs, and potential consequences for actions that unfolded in different installments.

4. Blending Elements of Fantasy with Paranormal Romance:

I won't dwell on why I chose to blend fantasy and paranormal romance in certain aspects because the simplest answer is—I enjoy both. They share common elements like magic and reincarnation. My series is a melting pot with forbidden love, eternal conflict, magic, vampires, psychic seers, attraction, and warfare. For my first series, I wanted to sample everything, discovering where my strengths lie and what aspects truly capture my attention. I'll be expanding on that in upcoming blog posts. We'll also explore some lore in both fantasy and paranormal—topics like the vampiric triumph in the ritual, the identity of the Kine, the mystery of the Phantom Quartz, Danielle's Kitchen Magic, and more.
